The Evangelism commission is pleased to announce September 12th & 13th are the dates of our 4th retreat. Outside of Wheeling, tucked away in the rolling hills of West Virginia, there is a little known facility that we have found. “ PaulVI Pastoral Center”.
This beautiful facility is a ministry of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston.
They have opened it up to other churches wishing to enjoy the beauty that our Lord has created.
This will be a two-day retreat for members and friends, beginning Friday evening at 5:00 and ending Saturday afternoon at 2:00.
The location is Paul VI Pastoral Center (667 Stone and Shannon Road, Wheeling, West Virginia.

first-come-first- serve basis.
You will not want to miss this retreat.

It will be a time of fun; fellowship and learning about the only command Jesus gave us: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

COME STUDY THE BOOK OF
DANIEL
An exciting new study on the book of Daniel will begin on Wednesday, June 11 at 6 p.m.
The study will be led by Jane Gambos and will utilize the Beth Moore videos and study guides. This class will be held every Wednesday evening for 12 weeks.
Part I – Daniel 1-6 emphasized by Lives of Integrity, deals with the life of the prophet and is extremely contemporary. Daniel faced pressures and temptation similar to those of a Christian in today’s world. He teaches and models for us how to develop enduring integrity in an enticing world.
Part II – Daniel 7-12 turns to explore the prophecies of Daniel. It deals in-depth with the historical details, predictions and fulfillments detailing history from the time of Daniel, through the inter-biblical period, the time of Christ, and on to the second coming of Christ.
Purchase of a student study guide deeply enhances these studies and is encouraged. They are $16.00. Please call the church office at 264-5309 or see Jane Gambos to reserve your copy of the study guide.

Churches and organizations who set up on Third Street were the Apostolic Gospel Church, Blessed Sacrament Church, Cove Presbyterian Church, the Crisagos Brothers, Crossroads Christian Church, First Westminster Presbyterian Church, Follansbee Church of God, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, New Horizons Community Church, New Life Ministry, St. Mark Lutheran Church, Urban Mission, vineyard Church of Wheeling, Word of Life, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Richmond United Methodist, Wintersville Church of Christ and Starkdale Presbyterian Church. They had on hand things the festival goers could purchase or receive for free including nut rolls to baklava, bottled water, jewelry, cookies, candy, flowers and much more.As the churches arrived and set up their booths, you could feel the excitement growing in anticipation of what ended up being a wonderful day.The festival it’s self was free to anyone who wished to come, however, monetary gifts and canned goods were accepted which was donated to the Urban Missions.
The day began at 1:00P.M. with The Word of Life Singers lifting their voices in praise. Their opening song was complemented by a balloon launch. The 500 red balloons all carried the Valley Gospel Fest 2008 information and Starkdale’s phone number. Calls have been received from as far away as Virginia from finders of the balloons.
The program went like clock work with music coming from The Aliquippa Church in the Round Gospel Choir conducted by Curtis Lewis, Sr., Jonathan White, The Season’s and three time Grammy Award winner, Ashley Cleveland.Food vendors were onsite offering everything from gelato and hot dogs to pulled pork sandwiches and ribs to over 1,000 people who attended. Red fireworks brought the day’s events to an end.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to all that were a part of this first Valley Gospel Fest and those who attended. Without the following groups this would not have been possible:
