Two thousand and nine was a blessed year for SYG because the “Lord” allowed us to participate in his work here on earth.  Here is our year in review , we hope it brings back some fond memories.

January:  We went miniature golfing at the mall and then to dinner at Zalenski’s restaurant.
February:  We went bowling to support Big Brothers & Big Sisters --- we donated $100.00.
March:  We had an Easter Egg sale --- with the Grand Prize being a deluxe Easter Basket.
April:  We had an Easter pancake breakfast.
We donated $1,000.00 to Fourth Street Health Center & Urban Mission  ---  we combined with the Starkdale Outreach Commission to make a total donation of $2,500.00 to each of these worthy organizations.
May:  We sold tickets to the Gospel Fest.
June:  We had Senior Night Dinner at Breezy Heights Restaurant.  We sang special music at early service.
July:   We played a major part in Youth Sunday with a four song program created entirely by SYG
August:   We played  Bocce Ball.
September:  We had our annual picnic.
October:   We collected over 50 gently used coats to go along with the church’s collection for Urban Mission.
November:  We had a spaghetti dinner to kick off Pennies for a Purpose.
We decorated and numbered the original plates used at Starkdale and sold them for Pennies for a Purpose.
We instituted a wall of fame for our graduated members titled,  “By ‘God’s’ Hand These Hands were Lead”.  There are currently 5 sets of handprints of these graduates imprinted on our wall.
December:  We continued to raise funds for Pennies for a Purpose.
We purchased $1,500.00 Wal-Mart gift cards and $1,500.00 Reisbeck’s gift cards from Starkdale’s Scrip Program.

We shopped at Wal-Mart for toys---(3 pallet  loads) for Urban Mission.
We purchased 25 dinners from Reisbeck’s for Urban Mission.
We sold candy canes with a grand prize deluxe Christmas basket.
We presented our own version of the “Twelve Days of Christmas” at coffee hour.
