Starkdale’s Music Ministry welcomes all - members, friends, families and visitors - to join us as we sing a new song to the Lord!  Our joyful noise takes many forms: vocal and instrumental, classical and modern, solemn and exuberant.  Our repertoire includes a host of traditional psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs as well as popular styles and more.  Why?  Because God’s love and faithfulness abundantly fills our lives and we are compelled to freely share it with others.

This attitude of servant-hood is alive and well among our members - regular attendees who love music and are eager to present the Gospel and bear witness to Christ through music and song.  From the youngest child learning a new instrument, to our most accomplished soloist, each is focused on touching the lives of those who hear us. 

In addition to supporting and enriching the services of worship of this congregation, music at Starldale is viewed as a gift to be shared with the community.  Our Concert Series and musically-led seasonal services of worship augment our regular Sunday worship.  

SUNDAY EVENING PRAISE SERVICES

These musically led worship services are held every first Sunday of the month at 7pm in the Sanctuary.  We sing traditional through contemporary praise choruses and worship songs and the service includes a brief message.  Song sheets are made available, although the lyrics are also projected onto a screen using PowerPoint.  Very often, guest musicians from the area come out and join us to share their musical gifts.

MUSIC ON SUNSET

Music On Sunset is a concert series held at various times throughout the year.  The series' primary focus is to provide quality, diverse concerts and recitals for the members of Starkdale and the people of the greater upper Ohio Valley area.

ENSEMBLES

Handbell Choir

Meets Wednesday evenings, 6 – 7pm in the Sanctuary. This ensemble plays approximately every 4 to 5 weeks in Sunday worship.

Adult Choir

  Sings regularly at the Sunday 11am worship service, starting with warm-ups at 10:30 am, Chapel.   The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings in the sanctuary from 7:15 - 8:45 pm.   They enjoy singing a wide variety of quality, diverse, choral literature.
