WHY JESUS? By Philip Makari The deity of Jesus Christ is the one historical truth proven to be absolutely true.  Here are some of the evidences why it is so: It was predicted hundreds of years before it became a historical reality.  It became a historical fact in a time when emperors did everything they could to stop it from becoming a dogma, but couldn’t.  It was the target of opposition for centuries and yet survived the severest of hostilities. It was for millions of people, and still is, a life changing force, a motivator for peace and joy amidst hardships, and a real source of courage and hope in the face of tense persecution and martyrdom. It was and continues to be the one truth about God that makes sense. It was and continues to be the one belief by which the majority of the earth’s population is greatly disturbed.

The authenticity of Jesus as God is proven to be accurate on several other basis:

• Perfection of character.
• Supernatural Powers.
• Exceptional insights for living, insights that are higher than those taught by the greatest philosophers and thinkers.  
• Bold self claims, never uttered by any other individual in history.
• The absolute devotion of his followers to him as Lord, and to his teachings.
• The widespread of his movement against all the odds. 
• Some of those odds are:  his humble birth, his short-term ministry, his limited fame, his criminal death, the simplicity of his men he chose to carry out his mission after him, his meek personality, his low key resurrection appearances to a limited number of his followers, his unpopular ideals,  his impact on many lives, and the continued governmental, social, cultural, and scientific hostilities against him.

The deity of Jesus Christ is the only possible basis for human fulfillment.  To miss Jesus is to live without hope and even without purpose.
