A New Chapter for Starkdale Church

Today, Starkdale Church took an important step in its life and ministry.

Following our worship service on August 30th 2025, the congregation met for its second and final congregational meeting concerning our relationship with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. By a decisive vote of 88%, the congregation approved leaving the EPC, surpassing the required two-thirds majority.

Phase 1 is now complete. Starkdale Church has left the EPC.

We give thanks to God for His providence and faithfulness throughout this process. This has been a long and sometimes difficult journey, but the Lord has faithfully guided His church, and we are grateful for the unity and peace He has given us.

Now begins Phase 2.

The Session has appointed a Denominational Steering Committee to prayerfully and carefully explore Starkdale's long-term ecclesiastical future. The committee will report regularly to the Session as it considers possible denominational affiliations and other options, with the goal of completing its work within two years.

For now, we remain an
Independent Confessional Presbyterian congregation, committed to the authority of Scripture, the Westminster Standards, Presbyterian government, and the faithful proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We do not know exactly where the Lord will lead Starkdale in the years ahead, but we know who holds our future.

“The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad.” — Psalm 126:3

To God alone be the glory.
